Tap
With the notable exception
of Native Americans' traditional dances, tap is America's only indigenous dance form. Blended from two
widely divergent cultures, the slave imported from Africa and the multitude of immigrants from Ireland, tap dancing quickly
became America's most popular form of theatre dance.
From the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes to Fred Astaire to Savion Glover, almost everyone can appreciate
the wonderful rhythms of tap.
